FAQ

Proposals & Engagements

Where should I propose?

The best place to propose is at your hotel. It can be on the beach, a romantic dinner, or you can ask the concierge for alternatives. It can also be in a nice restaurant or on another beach (you can ask me for the best beaches in the area).

What time do you recommend having the photo session?

We recommend having the photo session in the morning, 1-2 hours after sunrise, or in the evening, one hour before sunset. However, anytime is possible.

How long does a photo session last?

Normally, one hour is sufficient. If it lasts longer, we can add an extra hour (at an additional cost).

What material do we deliver?

For a one hour photo session, we deliver 80 photos selected and edited. For a two hour photo session, we deliver 120 photos selected and edited, plus the best 8 photos edited in Photoshop.

How long will it take to get the photos?

You will receive photos no later than 3 days after the session. Photos edited in Photoshop 10 to 15 days after the session. Videos: maximum 7 days after the session.

How can I prepare for the photo session?

We recommend that our clients look for photo ideas on Pinterest and Instagram and share with us. That way, we’ll know what kind of photos you want to have (fun, casual, spontaneous, elegant, etc) and if you’re willing to get wet, jump, kiss etc.

I’ve never had a professional photography session! How do I pose?

We prefer to take natural photographs and let you be yourself! We allow couples to flow in the moment, and leave it up to us to capture your true essence. However, we will also show you some examples of poses, and provide instructions to capture different moments. Little by little, you will feel very comfortable in front of the camera!

How will you capture the proposal?

We provide a couple of different options. (1) Surprise photoshoot: We can capture the moment hidden in the distance with a zoom lens, and then have a session with the remainder of the time. (2) Planned photoshoot: The most recommended is to schedule a photo session so he/she can prepare for the session. At some point in the session, you can make the proposal and then continue with the photoshoot.

What clothes should I wear?

We recommend comfortable beachwear. For women, dresses work very well. Light colors work best: white, light blue, terracotta, pink, yellow, light green, and salmon. Recommend accessories: hats, sunglasses, and bandanas.

How many changes of clothes can I have?

In one hour, we recommend a maximum of two clothes changes. In two hours, there can be up to 3 clothes changes.

Are there any extra charges?

Extra charges are always discussed upfront and stated in your contract. Possible extra charges include: Makeup artist, hair stylist, assistant, extra lighting equipment, flower arrangements, extra photo edits in Photoshop, video, drone, extra hour.

Do you offer video services?

Yes, we have a great team of videographers that offer video and drone.

What kind of edits do you do in Photoshop?

We do a meticulous job editing 30-50 minutes for each photo, including:

  1. Erase objects that we do not want in the photo (people, cables, logs, etc).
  2. Correct skin imperfections.
  3. Correct the figure of the person (waist, bust, hips, etc).
  4. Add light effects, bubbles etc.
  5. The possibilities are endless, but all edits look very natural!

Weddings

What is the pre-wedding meeting?

The pre-wedding meeting is very important for us. We want to connect with the couple and understand their needs and wants. It’s also a time to discuss important details of the wedding day.

What is your photography style?

We consider ourselves wedding photojournalists. We capture candid moments, which are unique and full of emotion. For example, the first time the father sees his daughter dressed as a bride, or the first look between the bride and groom. We are invisible (you wont even notice we are there!) yet we capture every single sincere and intimate moment. We also take portrait photos, with the bride and groom, parents, siblings, and friends. As photographic storytellers, we tell the beautiful story of your wedding day.

How do you edit and how many photographs do you deliver?

We take an unlimited amount of photos during the events, and we deliver the amount of photos agreed upon in the package. There is always a minimum of 80 selected and edited photographs per hour of service. We do not deliver unedited photographs. We prefer light editing to maintain the organic moments. In editing, we sharpen focus, framing, colors, contrast, light, and shadows.

How do you edit in Photoshop?

We choose the best 10-20 photos to edit in Photoshop. We do a meticulous job of 30-50 minutes for each photo. We work on the photo in detail. We can correct skin imperfections, erase background objects, add light effects and bubbles, whiten teeth, modify waist, bust, hips. The possibilities are endless, yet we do a discreet job.

What equipment do you use?

We work with Canon 6D Mark II full frame equipment. We always work with two cameras and two different lenses so we can be ready for any type of photo at anytime. We also work with external camera flashes and a large external flash for the newlyweds session and sunset photos. We work with 4 lenses: a 70-300 telephoto zoom to capture moments at a distance, a 16-35mm wide angle lens to take large group and panoramic photos, a 24-105mm lens to capture everything, and a 50mm lens for portraits.

What is a pre-wedding session?

We normally like to include the pre-wedding session in packages of more than 6 hours. It is the perfect excuse to get to know each other better and practice poses so that everything flows perfectly on the wedding day. The session lasts one hour and we deliver 80 selected and edited photographs. If you’d like to learn more, please see the Proposals & Engagement FAQs.
